Hey There
Well, I finally got my new blog up and running. I am pretty much using this first one as a quick introduction. I know this is probably boring for some of you that already know me, but I thought it would be good for those who stumble onto this link and have no idea what they’re reading or who they’re reading about.
My name is Tim Miller and I’m a singer/songwriter based in Dallas. With respect to the music – think a young Bruce Springsteen possibly, with touches of David Gray and Ari Hest. Kind of acoustically driven indie pop I guess. Anyway, my second CD “Adelaide” just released on May 6th – it was produced by Dallas’ own Chris Bell (Erykah Badu, Polyphonic Spree, Eagles) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Phish, Ani DiFranco).
So, the concept of an album has always appealed to me; I have some really fond memories of going through my older siblings’ record collections, throwing on the headphones, flipping through the album jacket and getting lost in a collection of songs. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a great way to spend some time indeed. Regardless of the fact that singles currently dominate the market, it was the goal of creating an album that guided Chris and me in the making of “Adelaide.” Essentially we got some tape, Chris got his hands on some very cool vintage instruments and we went to work.
That being said, I think the best place to listen to “Adelaide” is on one of those long car rides by yourself or with a close friend. Better yet, go old school – pop on some headphones some lazy afternoon or late at night when distractions are at a minimum and listen to it start to finish. I’m pretty sure you’ll find yourself in a song or two.
Alright – well here’s the album cover:
These are the songs:
- Say Hello
- Let’s Go
- Make Believe
- Who I Am
- Man Overboard
- Heaven Only Knows
- Another Day in the Life
- Let Us End
- The Point
- Adelaide
- Four Leaf Clover
- This Life
- Remember This Day
The coolest place to sample the album is my website - just go the music section. Of course, if you prefer myspace, you can hear some of the songs there as well. Some recent press on the CD can be found here.
Be sure to check timmiller.com for the latest in show info and if I’m playing around you – do come out and say hi if you can.
Ok – I think that does it for the introductory bio blog. I hope you guys enjoy the new stuff.
Until next time,
Tim
